4 Chiefing Traps and How to Avoid Them

When chiefing a village it’s easy to get carried away with the excitement of stealing a village. Often players will forget some of the most basic properties of an effective chief and fail their takeover attempt. Here are the top 4 traps and how to make sure you don’t make them.
· Forgetting to destroy the Main Building: In order to build a residence a village must have a level 5 main building. To bring the main building to level 1 takes just under an hour on speed servers. This gives you more time to organize your troops if you are only using one chief to take over a village. Sure, you’ll have to rebuild it yourself, but at least you will have the village.
· Using one chief for an active player: If you are going to use one chief you might as well take over the village of a player that is inactive. If you try taking over a village from a very active player with only one chief you increase the chances of your chief being killed or sniped.
· Chiefing villages that are too far away from your cluster: Chiefing should be done out of convenience, not excitement. Don’t take over a village just because it’s available. You may end up losing it because it is too far away to protect.
· Not having the culture points to align up for building your empire: This mistake is probably the silliest one of the bunch. Yet somehow players get excited over taking over a village and think that the CP will be ready by the time they take the village. Do your math!
And that’s it! There are probably hundreds more, but there are some of the more common ones. Make sure you plan out your chiefing so that you enjoy the process and don’t end up pulling your hair out when your chief dies.
